Mold is everywhere in nature. Microscopic mold particles float through the air both inside and outside homes. When enough of these spores become concentrated in a home they can cause breathing problems and in some cases more serious health issues, unless treated properly.
Spores need moisture, oxygen and a food supply to grow and multiply. When a spore finds an appropriate conditions to grow it will attach itself to any surface and reproduce, causing a higher concentration of spores in a local area such as a room, hallway, or closet. As the mold multiplies this spore concentration becomes stronger causing additional health hazards.
Molds can grow on wallboard, wallpaper, ceiling tiles, carpeting, leather, and even on the inside of air conditioning systems. When these materials become damp from flooding, water leaks, condensation or excessive humidity, these ever present spores begin colonizing and an infestation can occur.
SGI can help you end mold in your home with our simple, three-step approach to mold remediation:
- Stop mold at the source: Mold grows when the conditions are right. Change the environmental conditions and STOP mold growth.
- Treat mold outbreaks without having to renovate: Renovation can be very costly and in most cases is NOT NECESSARY for removing mold from your home.
- Keep the mold away: Advise the homeowner on maintaining a mold-resistant environment in the affected area.
